Tony Azzopardi is a Sydney based percussionist consumate in all areas of (Afro Latin ) percussion.

He has worked professionally for the last 27 years and in that time has toured internationally e.g. Japan, Hong Kong, Fiji, The Montreal Jazz Festival 1995 and the first Jazz Festival of Bangkok in 1996. China, K L ,Singapore He has recorded with some of Australia’s best artists including:

Marcia Hines, Doug Parkinson, Jenny Morris, Mark Hunter , Andrew Oh the Nissan Cedricks,Richard Clapton Gina Jeffery’s and others, he has also played with international acts such as Tom Jones, Thelma Houston, Cathy Sledge.

Some of the many bands Tony works with are The Prophets, Doug Parkinson, Marcia Hines, Andrew Oh ,Grace Knight.Tim Draxel, The Beat Goes On,Scandal’Us and Superfish. Glen Shorok Australian Idol, Tim Oram.

He was also musical director on an episode of Heartbreak High.

Tony works regularly on T.V. variety shows and also features in a number of commercials and sound tracks(eg The A.B.C Promo logos,Kentucky Fried Chicken,Legos,Nescafe,Aerogard and many many more. He was a regular guest on the Club Buggery show(ROY and H.G).He has also just finished doing all the percussion on the internationally acclaimed show BURN THE FLOOR.

As well as all this he works hard during the day bringing his craft to schools, doing a show called "DRUMBEAT". This show has received the best reviews from the Dept. of Education over the last 12 years.

Known for his sense of feel and professionalism and with a sponsorship from Billy Hyde's "Drumcraft", Tony is always one of the first percussionists called.
